The Establishment and Enactment of the Japan Foundation

The Japan Foundation (JF) was established in 1972 by the Japanese Diet as the dedicated public institution dedicated to promoting international cultural exchange. Its mission is to deepen other nations' understanding of Japan and foster global mutual understanding. In the Philippine context, the Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM), established in 1996, is crucial in enacting this mission across three strategic pillars: Japanese-Language Education, Arts and Cultural Exchange, and Japanese Studies.

Philippine-Japanese economic relations have been a bedrock of stability for Manila, consistently deepening across various presidential administrations despite domestic political changes. The relationship has consistently centered on three pillars: Official Development Assistance (ODA), trade, and investment.

The history of Japanese language education in the Philippines is a complex narrative of evolution, directly tied to diplomatic and economic shifts.

Career Objective

Iñigo aims to establish a career in finance while continuing to nurture his strong interest in Japanese culture and politics.

He hopes to contribute, in his own small way, to better Philippine-Japan relations.
